On Display: Garden of Curiosity

There are endless possibilities when it comes to garden events and displays. Stone, metal, pottery, wood...all are great options and each has its own appeal and wonder. The lovely thing about botanical ideas is that you can mix and match surfaces and textures and it only creates more splendor! Whether you're going with a more earthy theme, or you want a more glamorous garden look, you can't really go wrong.

Some tips when working on garden displays:

  • I love layering in natural elements or what I like to call "curiosities." A little bit of mystery goes a long way...cloche domes, raw minerals, wood or stone pieces, or even cast animal skulls can add a funkier element to any display.
  • When in doubt, choose a color scheme that plays well with nature: greens, ambers, blues and purples make for great accent colors and complement hues already present in the natural world.
  • For a more luxurious garden affair, I love to use mixed metals. They add elegance and uniqueness without going over the top.

I hope you enjoy these pieces for such a versatile theme!
