Antiques + Vintage: Finds

Well, hello!

I know it has been awhile since I have posted any new finds. You can rest easy, because I have lots of goodies to share over the next few weeks!

Today I have some quirkier items to share with you. I have to admit, that a few of these are things I've actually been wanting for some time now. While they might seem like strange items to want, I just think they'd be fun and add an interesting element to any event!

I found ALL of these items at garage sales over the past two weekends. My favorite is that teeny brass spritzer sitting in the center...I have a small fascination with these little guys! I also added this small painted wood box to my planter collection. I think interesting planter boxes are a great option for centerpieces at weddings. I also couldn't help myself from adding this Canada Dry crate and small cheese dome to my growing collections of these items. They're just practical pieces that can have a variety of functions for any event.

Did you think I forgot something? How could I possibly forget to mention this vintage handmade feather duster? Yep, those are REAL feathers wired onto the painted red handle. Isn't it a great piece? My mother actually spotted this at a garage sale, and I couldn't say no.

Last up, is this lot of beauties. This pretty little blue mirror is the third in my inventory. Who doesn't want a dainty mirror to gaze into while checking their hair or makeup? I also can't seem to stop myself from picking up these little library card catalogs, which make for great placecard holders or guest book card holders! And I might end up stealing this bicycle rack for myself. It's perfect for a trip to the farmers market or a ride to a cozy spot for a picnic.

And finally...ANTLERS! I've been wanting antlers for some time now. I know it seems morbid, but I think they're so beautiful. I really do dislike the hunting of animals, but I was told that all of these antlers were plucked from the side of the road, and not from deer that were hunted in any way. The people in my town are all very respectful of nature, so I'm inclined to believe the nice gentleman who sold these to me.

That is all for this week...but I have a lovely find to show you next week that I am dying to share with you! Don't forget to check in tomorrow for my interview with Tiffany Moore of the Teahouse Studio. It's going to be a great post!
